Do you have a Success Safety Net?
You know what I am talking about, that success safety net that is between you and success. Sometimes, removing that success safety net is exactly what is needed. I am not telling anyone to do this, but maybe you need to quit that job and start that business or change that career (that is a personal decision). The comfort of your success safety net might be keeping you from jumping in with both feet. If you are just sticking one toe in the waters of success you are not ready, you do not have faith in yourself and your ability to achieve your goals.
When you decide to leave up your success safety net, you have doubts.
Your success safety net is what you create to protect you from the fear of the unknown.
I have talked to many people that have started part time businesses from their homes in hopes (yes, I said hopes) of growing the part time business to be big enough and profitable enough to allow them to quit their job. Many of these same people have grown their part time home business to the point of making a few dollars a month, but not to the point of quitting their full time job (a success safety net).
Success Safety Net or Fear of Success
When questioned about their part time business they say the business is not making enough money, or there is not enough time to make the business profitable enough. This is a prime example of a success safety net. If they can make the part time business profitable in the small amount of time they devote to it now, what could be done if they could spend all their time building this business by quitting their job?
Once again, I am not telling anyone that they should quit their job, but it is definitely something you need to consider. When you have a success safety net in place and do not want to remove it, maybe you need reevaluate your goals. Or at least go back and reconsider if this is really what you want.
When you remove the success safety net, there is only one way to go. You only have yourself to count on. It is do or die. Your lack of a success safety net sends a message to your mind. I have to make this work, I will make this work and I am the only responsible for making this happen. Full speed ahead and take no prisoners.
