Moving Past Fear to Success

We all have those times when all the positive thinking stuff just can’t get you past your fear. We know better logically, we can think about it all day, but it wont change it. For some reason we get some kind of mental block or something.

There is a speaker named Joyce Meyer that says, “If you’re afraid to do it, just DO IT AFRAID.” No one will blame you for being afraid, but they will if you let it stop you. You know you need to do it, so do it afraid and move on. Just keep moving forward.

Fear is like quicksand, if we stop moving forward and working on our goals long enough, it will suck you down. It’s very hard to get out once you start going down, but it is possible, it can be done.

When fear strikes in your quest for success, try these to move past fear:

1. Where did this fear come from and how did you catch it?  Have you been focusing on the obstacles instead of the solutions? Have you been hanging around with negative people, complainers, or naysayers? Are you listen these people or back sliding into your old habits on negative thinking? It is easy to do if you let your guard down. If that is what you are doing then STOP. Remove yourself from this environment and these people, IMMEDIATELY. Surround yourself with positive and supportive people. Then read some old posts and get back on track.

2. Look at the progress you have made so far, no matter big or small it is still progress and forward movement. Read and visualize your goals already achieved to remind yourself why you are doing what you’re doing. Take a look at the small steps to the main goal that you have already completed, regardless of size, it is still progress. This should start to get you back on track and leave your fear behind.

3. Look in the mirror and remember the commitment you have made to yourself to accomplish this goal. I mean it, get up and go look in the mirror, and look yourself in the eye. Then repeat your commitment and that you have what it takes to achieve and succeed. You will do what ever it takes to achieve your goal. When fear creeps in to your head it will often turn your self talk into statements like “maybe I don’t have what it takes” Show fear that it does not have a chance when it comes to your skills, abilities, faith in yourself and your commitment to succeed.

4. Most importantly remember what fear is:

F= False – E= Evidence - A=Appearing – R=Real

That is all Fear really is, False Evidence Appearing Real.

You need to understand and know that fear is only fear when your mind allows it to be fear. Move past your fear and keep moving forward to Success. You Can Do It. Others have, You Can Too!
