Success Thinking – How You Think Matters

Though your life you have learned many things by experience, and these experiences have had a major impact on forming your success thinking. To put it another way, at a young age you probably learned not to touch something because it was hot either by getting burnt or by your parents strongly making that point to you. You learned many other things the same way while you were growing up, some from your personal experiences and some from trusting that your parents knew what was best.

Over the years you have formed your way of thinking based on some of those earliest lessons. Then as you grew older you learned more things either by experience or by listening to your parents, teachers or trusted friends or family. Now as an adult you have a set of life skills that are based on what those people believe are best for you. I am not saying that this is bad or good, I am just pointing out that your success thinking or the lack of, is running your life. Your success programming is based on the experiences and beliefs of the people that surrounded you both then and now.

Success Thinking Inventory

At this point in your life you need to examine your success thinking and take an inventory of what is serving you and what is holding you back. In order to achieve success you may need to change your way of thinking, some of those things that you learned may not be completely accurate. As time goes by and you experience any type of success you will add those experiences to your mindset of success that will influence your success in the future. Be aware of your thoughts and analyze them objectively to determine if they are serving you or holding you back.

Success Thinking or Limited Thinking

One of the easiest ways to find out if you practice success thinking or limited thinking is to think of some major goal or achievement that you would like to experience and visualize success. Then ask yourself why not, if you come up with excuses of why you can’t achieve success and experience that goal, you have found your limiting beliefs and thinking. Now you can list your reasons or limiting beliefs and start working on changing them. Analyze them one by one and determine if they are really true or if they are excuses.

They are excuses, I am sure of that and I don’t even know your reasons. They may be obstacles, but they are not reasons. Develop a success mindset, create success habits, read success quotes and start success thinking. Change your thoughts and limiting beliefs and you will change your life.
