Balance In Your Life

Does your life feel like it is spinning out of control at times? Do you have countless demands filling your plate? Life is coming at you from all directions, sometimes you feel overwhelmed and stressed out! Lost the balance in your life?

Putting a little balance in your life does not mean dramatic changes. Although you probably want to, you don’t have to quit your job or run away from your family and responsibilities. It sounds great, but you don’t have to run off to a tropical island or an isolated cabin to unwind and feel happy. True balance in your life is something that starts from the inside, regardless of what is happening in your everyday life.

Here are 3 ways to help you reduce the stress and put some balance in your life. When you reduce the stress in your life and put some balance in your life you will be more creative and productive.

Personal Time is one of the things that many people tend to give up when things get hectic. We use all of our energy to take care of our responsibilities that include job, family, household duties and the like. Living at a frantic pace without balance in your life uses up your energy and you start feeling overwhelmed and stressed out by your responsibilities.

Having balance in your life requires you to make the time for personal quiet time. Quiet time for YOU is critical to your continued and future success. Many people think they don’t have any extra time for themselves, but when you  make the time and use it properly you will have more energy, a sharper focus, be more creative and happier overall. When I say personal quiet time, I do not mean sitting in front of the TV or napping on the couch. I mean that you should find a quiet spot where you won’t be disturbed and meditate, write in a journal or just think. I dosn’t have to be long, 30 minutes would be great. Many people have a hard time being quiet and still for 30 minutes, try 15- 20 minutes and build up to 30 minutes. Once a day is ideal, but 2 or 3 times a week is good. You will be surprised how this can help put balance in your life.

B: Personal Care

Besides personal time to put balance in your life you need to take care of yourself. Get sufficient sleep, only you know how much time you need to be rested. Some people need 5 or 6 hours while some require 8 or 9 hours a night. Lack of rest will cause stress on it’s own, there is plenty of stress in daily life as it is don’t increase it by shorting yourself of rest. Get some physical exercise at least 3 or 4 times a week, this will head keep your head clear and give you more energy. Eat, yes I said EAT. Too many many people eat poorly or not enough, which just puts more stress on your body. When you do eat, eat quality food not junk food. A good quality of food will also provide more energy and put more balance in your life.

We have all operated on an empty stomach and not enough sleep which makes even the smallest problem seem huge. When you are well fed and rested you’re in a much better frame of mind to handle problems. Take care of yourself and you will have more energy, clearer head, more balance in your life and better be able to deal with life’s obstacles.

C: Lighten Up

A big cause of stress in peoples life’s is their own expectations. I have done and you do it, we have our own idea of the way things should be. You get stressed out and lose the balance in your life when things don’t happen or work out the way we think they should.  Lighten up and give your self a little flexibility. Learn how to detach from your rigid expectations and lighten up a little. This is a big one for may people striving for success, lighten up and put some balance in your life.

When you lighten up from balance in your life you are in a better position to tap into your creativity and overcome obstacles. Remember the story of the tree that bends with the wind, it is less likely to break and ends up being stronger because of it.

Make these changes in your life and they will make a difference in your energy, thinking, creativity and well-being. The time you take to make these changes in your life will usually be made up by your increased energy level, productivity and less stress. The balance in your life will create more benefits to you than the time you take to make these changes.
